Born in Germany in 1963, I came to France in 1982. I began as an Au Pair girl in Marseille and then studied foreign languages in Grenoble. Then the grand departure for Africa where, with my husband, we spent time in the Ivory Coast (where my particular interest in ethnology and earth colours comes from). While there I worked as a translator, taught German and reading to locals. I also began experimenting with water colours
After eight years in the Paris region, where I began painting, we moved to Crémieu, a town 45 minutes outside Lyon which dates back to medieval times and where we restored an old stone house. I came into oil painting twelve years ago after having four children (!). Having myself grown up in a creative family, I was constantly in an artistic environment (music, textiles, pottery). From there it was only a matter of time for me to reach out for my paintbrushes..
